This system comes with four 140W solar panels. This is a 23.6V monocrystalline solar panel with an Isc of 8.05A. This Voc will quadruple when these panels are wired in series, as shown in the wiring schematic included. This increased Voc makes charging on overcast days or throughout the cold much more feasible. More information can be found on our solar panel manual page.
The included solar panels are compatible with the 150/45 charge controller. You can choose between the SmartSolar and the BlueSolar (non-smart) models.
The DC cable gauge specifies a distance of no more than 1.5m each direction (3m 'there and back again') between the charge controller and your busbars. If your charge controller will be located further away, please contact us so that we may submit a system proposal with the appropriate cable gauge.
Every package includes a PV isolator switch. This makes it simple to separate the subsystem from the rest of your electrical system.
Each kit includes a Scanstrut horizontal double-entry cable seal. Scanstrut manufactures durable and waterproof entry glands that give a sealed and secure entry point for the solar panel cables into your van.
To connect the solar panels to the charge controller, we utilize Victron solar cable.
